TEDxDonauinsel 2015 was a success!

As you can see in these first reactions on twitter – this year’s TEDxDonauinsel was another great success!

200 people gathered on May 31st and where taken on an emotional rollercoaster full of inspiration under the slogan “exploring passion”. The international speakers talked about topics of a very wide range: For example, Karim El Gawhary and Nathalie Haas talked about their personal experience with the current refugee situation. Online-activist and feminist Emma Holten talked about the problem of “revengeporn” and the human right of consent. Thato Kgatlhanye presented her upcycling-initiative for school kids in South Africa. The audience was visibly excited about the talks as well as about the interactive programm in the breaks.

What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxDonauinsel, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxDonauinsel event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.
